Best Dive Bars on the Space Coast, Voted by Locals

Space Coast Dive Bars
Voted by locals for locals: Space Coast's Favorite Dive Bars

The locals have spoken—and the results make a strong case for the neighborhood bars that have been keeping the Space Coast interesting for years.

This is not a ranking based on polished interiors, craft-cocktail menus or paid placements. It is a community-voted list of the Space Coast bars locals actually return to.

How We Ranked the Best Dive Bars on the Space Coast

This ranking was determined by votes from the +66,000 Vibe & Dine community (Tiktok, Instagram and Facebook).

Followers were asked to name their favorite and best dive bars on the Space Coast, FL. We counted the responses and ranked the bars according to the number of votes they received.

Kelly’s Key West Bar finished first with 55 votes and received the largest share of the community vote.

This was an informal audience poll rather than a scientific survey. No business paid for placement in the ranking, and the results reflect the preferences of the followers who participated.

What Do We Mean by “Dive Bar”?

“Dive bar” is usually said with affection around here.

For this list, we are talking about casual, unpretentious neighborhood bars known more for their personalities, regulars and atmosphere than their décor.

The best dive bars tend to have a few things in common:

  • A loyal local following

  • A relaxed, come-as-you-are atmosphere

  • Cold, straightforward drinks

  • Familiar bartenders and regulars

  • Plenty of personality

  • A feeling that the place does not need to change to earn attention

These are the places people recommend because they have stories attached to them.

1. Kelly’s Key West Bar

Location: Indian Harbour Beach

Address: 2286 Jimmy Buffett Memorial Highway, Indian Harbour Beach, FL

Kelly’s Key West Bar was the clear winner of the Vibe & Dine community poll.

Its bright blue exterior is difficult to miss, but the neighborhood atmosphere appears to be what inspires such loyalty. Kelly’s received more votes than any other bar nominated and earned the title of the Space Coast’s favorite dive bar according to participating Vibe & Dine followers.

Why Kelly’s Ranked First

Kelly’s did not narrowly win the poll. It received the largest share of the vote, with 55 people naming it their favorite.

That kind of support usually says more than a polished advertisement ever could. Locals clearly have a strong connection to this Indian Harbour Beach bar.

2. Jump’s Tiny Tavern

Location: Cocoa Beach

Address: 201 Taft Avenue, Cocoa Beach, FL

Jump’s Tiny Tavern earned the number-two position.

The name sets the expectation: it is small, casual and filled with the kind of personality people look for in a local dive. Its location near the beach gives it a distinctly Cocoa Beach feel without turning it into a polished tourist bar.

This is the type of spot people tend to learn about from a local rather than from a resort itinerary.

3. Hunkerdown Hideaway

Location: Cocoa Beach

Address: 7 S. Atlantic Avenue, Suite C, Cocoa Beach, FL

Hunkerdown Hideaway placed third in the community vote.

Located near Downtown Cocoa Beach, it has the laid-back atmosphere its name suggests. This is a place to settle in, order something cold and stay longer than originally planned.

Its third-place finish also helped establish Cocoa Beach as the city with the strongest representation in the poll.

4. Johnathan’s Pub

Location: Cocoa Beach

Address: 140 N. Brevard Avenue, Cocoa Beach, FL

Johnathan’s Pub took the fourth spot and brings some serious local history to the list.

The pub says it was established in 1970 and identifies itself as Brevard County’s oldest bar. Its official website presents it as a longstanding Cocoa Beach neighborhood institution.

It has something that cannot be recreated with themed décor: decades of real local stories.

5. The Wet Spot

Location: Palm Bay

Address: 3650 Dixie Highway NE, Lot C, Palm Bay, FL

The Wet Spot brought Palm Bay into the top five.

Its roadside appearance and no-frills personality fit the spirit of this ranking perfectly. The Wet Spot earned enough support to place ahead of several better-known beachside businesses, proving that Palm Bay locals showed up for their neighborhood favorite.

6. The Beach Shack

Location: Cocoa Beach

Address: 1 Minutemen Causeway, Cocoa Beach, FL

The Beach Shack gives the ranking a true beach-bar option.

Located beside the ocean in Cocoa Beach, it combines the casual energy of a local bar with immediate access to the sand and Atlantic breeze. It is the most clearly beachside choice among the eight ranked businesses.

7. Kennedy’s Lamp Post Tavern

Location: Cape Canaveral

Address: 7822 N. Atlantic Avenue, Cape Canaveral, FL

Kennedy’s Lamp Post Tavern earned seventh place.

It is the kind of North Atlantic Avenue neighborhood bar that may be easy to pass without noticing—unless you already know where you are going. Its community support was strong enough to make it the only Cape Canaveral business in the official top eight.

8. Lou’s Blues

Location: Indialantic

Address: 3191 N. Highway A1A, Indialantic, FL

Lou’s Blues rounds out the ranking and represents the Indialantic bar scene.

It has a larger footprint and more entertainment-focused atmosphere than some of the tiny taverns on the list, but its local personality and longstanding following earned it a place in the community vote.

  • Just 1 More — Melbourne

  • Monkey Bar — Indialantic
